Currently in development, SMALL FISH is a new puppet operetta in English by Henry Krieger (music) and Susan J. Vitucci (libretto, puppets and direction) featuring the Clothespin Repertory Theatre.

SMALL FISH features the celebrated puppet star, La Pulcina Piccola, in the lead role. The work tells the story of her underwater journey of exploration and discovery.

A workshop of SMALL FISH is planned in Philadelphia in the spring of 2007 by 1812 Production Company. The works is also under serious consideration for a production at New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) on a double bill titled “Fish & Fowl” with the celebrated Krieger/Vitucci collaboration, LOVE’S FOWL

LOVE’S FOWL has national following, having toured US arts festivals including Spoleto USA 2004 in Charleston, SC, and is subject of a popular feature often played on public radio’s “This American Life.”

SMALL FISH has been developed in a series of NYTW residencies over the past four years. Additional developmental workshops are necessary to prepare the work for its New York premiere.

The fiscal sponsor for SMALL FISH is The Field, a not-for-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code; all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
